Itinerary

1. Spain - Gibraltar Border

This excursion combines the charm of the Andalusian coastline with the uniqueness of crossing an international border at street level. It is an ideal destination for those seeking cultural contrasts and impressive seascapes.

The Border, located in La Linea de la Concepción, is one of the few places in the world where an airport runway was crossed to enter the city. Since 2024, there has been a tunnel under the runway.

The path along the southern coast offers a spectacular panoramic view of "The Rock", the enormous limestone monolith that dominates the Strait. On clear days, the silhouette of Africa is sharply outlined on the horizon.

2. Crossing on foot

The trip to Gibraltar is a unique opportunity to visit the last colony in Western Europe by crossing the border and the airport runway.

Crossing the border between Spain (La Linea de la Concepción) and Gibraltar on foot is one of the most unique border experiences in Europe.

Unlike the long waits that cars usually suffer, crossing on foot is generally fast, simple, and visually striking.

3. Border - Europa Point

Upon arriving at the bus stop, our minibus route begins at the southernmost tip of the Rock. In this natural balcony, where ancient bastions and a mosque are located, the gaze gets lost in the Strait.

The proximity of the Rif mountains in Morocco is so striking that any reduction in visibility due to sea mist does not prevent feeling the connection between two continents.

4. St. Michael's Cave

We will delve into the heart of the Rock to discover a natural cavity that seems straight out of a legend. St. Michael's Cave, adorned with stalactites and stalagmites, comes to life thanks to a modern light show.

As you descend through its galleries, you will experience a descent into the geological depths of the Rock in a magical and solemn atmosphere.

5. Apes`Den and return to the town

No visit is complete without meeting the Barbary macaques. In the Apes' Den, we will observe these charismatic primates in their natural habitat.

It is essential to follow the guide's instructions to avoid any incident, ensuring that there is no decrease in the safety of the group or in the welfare of the animals, which are the living symbol of freedom on the Rock.

6. Old Town: free time

During your free time, you can appreciate the history of the Jews in Gibraltar, which dates back more than 650 years. They were well received when fleeing persecution in Spain and Portugal. In 1805 they represented half of the population.

During your free time in the historic center, you can see John Mackintosh Square (the Piazza), colloquially known as the Jews' Market.

Later we will walk by the City Hall, which was formerly the residence of Aaron Cardozo, a prosperous merchant of Portuguese Jewish descent.

7. Free time

The suggested self-guided tour in the city center takes around 1.5 hours and will leave you enough time for shopping. "Main Street", the Irish Town district, and "Casemates" Square.

Main Street and Irish Town are the beating heart of Gibraltar, where international brands offer competitive prices thanks to tax exemption.

It is the ideal time to enjoy "Fish and Chips" or explore "Ocean Village".

Despite its modernity, the center retains that British flair that prevents any decline in its historical charm.
