Itinerary

1. Park Avenue

Our bus route begins at Avenida del Parque, also known as Malaga Park, one of the city's most iconic urban enclaves.

This great botanical hallway is considered one of the most valuable public spaces in Europe. Walking under its towering palm trees and among exotic species brought from overseas makes us forget that we are in the heart of a large city.

On one side of the park stand the imposing buildings of the City Hall and the old Customs House; on the other, the port opens up, the same one that has given life to Malaga for millennia.

2. Elegant seaside neighborhoods

We continue east, where the city begins to open up to the most elegant neighborhoods located facing the sea. This area marks a clear transition between the urban center and a more residential and calm Malaga.

In areas such as La Malagueta and El Limonar, regionalist architecture displays all its splendor. Well-kept facades, ornamental details, and a more open planning define the character of these historic neighborhoods.

Here, the stately villas and small palaces from the late 19th century evoke an industrial and prosperous Malaga that looked to the sea with a mixture of nostalgia, ambition, and sophistication.

3. Baños del Carmen

Old seaside resort opened in 1918 with an air of romantic decadence. It is the favorite spot to watch the sunset in the bay of Malaga.

4. Gibralfaro Castle

14th-century fortress built to protect the Alcazaba. It offers the most famous view of Malaga: the Bullring, the Cathedral, and the port.

5. Picasso's Birthplace

Visit to the house where the artist was born and the church where he was baptized in Malaga.

6. Roman Theatre

The oldest monument in the city, built in the time of Augustus. It acts as a prelude to the Alcazaba and connects us with the ancient history of Malaga.

Nasrid palace-fortress with flower courtyards, fountains, and walls. It transports you to the era of Muslim splendor with beautiful views over the port.

7. Larios Street

The most elegant artery in Malaga and one of the most luxurious shopping streets in Spain. It stands out for its stately design and impeccable paving.

Inaugurated in 1891, it represented the most ambitious urban project of the 19th-century Malaga bourgeoisie to connect the city with the sea.

8. Atarazanas Market

A market whose exterior reflects the city's history from the 14th to the 19th century. It was formerly an Arabic shipyard.

The most valuable element is its main gate: an imposing pointed horseshoe arch made of marble that belonged to the ancient Arabic shipyards.

9. Malaga Cathedral

Jewel of the Malaga Renaissance, built between the 16th and 18th centuries over the ancient Main Mosque. It is known as "La Manquita" because its south tower remained unfinished due to a lack of budget.

It impresses with the height of its vaults and the magnitude of its pillars. Highlights include the Choir, with carvings by Pedro de Mena, and the 18th-century organs that still function perfectly.

10. Free time

Malaga is the ideal place for a break with free time for lunch and to stroll at your own pace through the Calle Larios and Plaza de la Constitución area.

The area offers traditional gastronomy and historic taverns, while Strachan Street stands out for signature cuisine restaurants.

Calle Larios combines international brands with local shops selling leather crafts and typical ceramics, as well as sweets like Yemas del Tajo and tortas de aceite.
