1. Baelo Claudia (arqueological complex)
Our historical immersion begins in the bay of Bolonia (Cádiz), an archaeological site of exceptional importance founded in the 2nd century BC.
It is widely known as the "Pompeii of Spain" because it is the best-preserved Roman city on the entire Iberian Peninsula.
Baelo Claudia originated as a strategic enclave for trade with North Africa and the fish-salting industry (Garum).
As we walk along its cobbled streets, the excellent preservation of its monuments, such as the Temple of Isis and the statue of Trajan, allows us to understand Roman urban planning without diminishing the visitor's sense of wonder.
